French arrest six suspected of financing group tied to al-Qaeda
Paris - Agents of the French domestic intelligence service DST on Friday arrested six people suspected of helping to finance a terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda, France Info radio reported.
The six suspects, all of Turkish nationality, were taken into custody in a suburb of the eastern French city of Mulhouse. They are accused of trying to raise funds for a terrorist group in Uzbekhistan linked to Osama bin Laden's global terror network.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with Dutch and German intelligence services. Two other suspects were reported to have been arrested in the Netherlands. (dpa)
