Mona To Host New Reality Show ‘Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi’ On Sony TV
Mona Singh or Jassi of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin fame on T.V. is ready to host a new reality show, called Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi on Sony Entertainment Television.
The show is based on dramatic makeovers in which individuals undergo a complete transformation that involves plastic surgery, exercise programs, hairdressing and wardrobe changes.
Mona’s change from ugly and clumsy dame to beautiful, smart high fashion model was the major thing that made Mona Singh famous and helped the TV serial to top the TRP ratings.
After attracting the whole country for her mesmerizing and innocent look in Jassi, Mona Singh also dazzled audiences by winning the dance reality show on Sony T.V. titled Jhalak Dikhla Ja. She even anchored the show during its second season.
However, she didn’t like Saas-Bahu stories on television, and has been choosy in her roles on T.V.
Mona said, “My debut serial was a trend setter. Television soaps and reality shows in recent times have been done to death. I don’t want to be just any other character on television. There is no novelty left in the kind of programming that is seen in the last few years.”
While talking about her new reality show for Sony Entertainment television “Naya Roop Nayi Zindagi”, which is reportedly based on the popular US show Extreme Makeover, the gorgeous Mona stated that it was a path-breaking show.
“It aims to give a once in a life time chance to few individuals with flawed looks, people who were scarred or maimed or have prominent birth mark, a cleft lip, victims of acid attack or explosions, a complete transformation, not just by changing their looks but also their lives,” she said.
Mona said that 10 people have already been picked out for the show. She also said that each and every episode opens with the person’s case history and how the whole process occurred.
After surgery and the recovery process, which in a few cases takes several months, candidates will not be allowed to meet their family members, as the show expects their change be a surprise to family and friends. In each episode, the viewer will witness the agony and joy of the contestant and the final triumph.
About anchoring the show, Mona Singh said, “It was a challenging project for me and an emotional journey as well. We had difficult cases and I had to confront them. I needed to be calm and positive for the people on the show, which was not easy. The best part about the show is helping people solve their problems.”
