Yesterday night, an amazing astronomical phenomenon took place in the western sky. Three astronomical bodies, the Moon, Venus and Jupiter were seen clustered together. Being the brightest objects in the sky after the sun, their appearance was easily detectable.

Though they were million of kilometers apart, they considered to be appearing almost side by side. Dr Abel Yang from the National University of Singapore has earlier suggested that if people want to see this divine meeting, they need to find a clear location so that they can see the clear sky.

He also suggested that people will be able to spot two celestial bodies near the moon. The three objects formed a triangle and Jupiter was hovering over the moon, which was in right and Venus on left.

As it was Ramzan, therefore, the yesterday’s moon was crescent one and Venus and Jupiter were on either sides of the moon. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and is the fifth from the sun. It is present 909 km from earth.

Venus is 77 km from earth and is fifth from the sun in the solar system. Though Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, but Venus is brighter among the two as it is nearer to the sun.

Many have referred the event as ‘Star of Bethlehem’ that led to the birth of Jesus. As per astronomers, the way planets were arranged were almost same to the way they were 2,000 years ago when the Christ was born.
