More than half of Indians are very satisfied with their jobs: survey
Most employees in India are satisfied with their work, a fresh survey conducted by Monster Worldwide and market research firm Gfk revealed.
According to the survey report, More than half (55 per cent) of workers in India are very satisfied with their jobs. The Asian country secured the third position in global job happiness ranking, just behind Canada and the Netherlands.
Canada topped the global job happiness rankings list with 64 per cent of workers saying they love their jobs; the Netherlands grabbed the second spot with 57 per cent satisfied workers.
In India, merely 5 per cent of workers said they disliked their jobs, but none expressed abhorrence for his/her job. The percentage of unsatisfied workers in India was recorded the lowest among all countries surveyed.
Sanjay Modi, managing director for India, Middle East and Southeast Asia at Monster. com, said that the findings of the survey revealed that money can't buy happiness.
Commenting on the findings, Modi said, "It's said that money can't buy you happiness. There are many variables to job satisfaction - and the size of your pay cheque is only one aspect. It's positive to see that so many workers enjoy their jobs regardless of salary."
While 60 per cent of workers from the middle-income category said they liked their jobs, only 52 per cent of high earners expressed similar sentiments about their jobs.
The findings of the survey were based on responses of nearly 8,000 workers across seven countries.
