Retail gasoline prices fall below 3$ in some US states
In some of the states in the US, the retail gasoline prices have fallen below $3 a gallon for the first time in several months due to the recessionary trends in the global economy.
As the crude oil process are falling the fall in retail price is expected to spread to more areas. The national average for a gallon of unleaded is down to $3.51 a gallon. The average price has fallen by 12 cents a gallon in the past two weeks alone, according to the Lundberg Survey of fuel prices.
The survey, which was released on Sunday, also shows that Midgrade costs an average of $3.70 a gallon and premium was at $3.82.
Diesel prices also fell to $3.91 a gallon. Among the cities, St. Louis reported the lowest average of $3.08 while San Francisco had the highest at $3.90.
