This weeks solar blasts could effect communications, experts

Two solar blasts have hit the magnetic field of Earth on Friday and have the potential to disrupt electrical grids, global-positioning systems or other satellite-communications systems, warned experts.

Joseph Kunches, a space weather scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that the blasts reached Earth's magnetic field as fast-moving "solar wind" and is blowing by the Earth.

Along with the potential risks of disrupting signals and communications, the solar blast also offers a fantastic view of the sky to observers and sky watchers.
