Sensex Surges 45.02 Pts; Nifty At 5,918.45

The 30-share index BSE Sensex, which belled the day at 19,731.38, was trading 45.02 points up at 19,746.75.
In contrast, the broad-based Nifty was ruling 0.17% up at 5,918.45.
The BSE midcap index remained up by 0.49% and the BSE small cap index surged 0.61%.
On Monday (April 04), the Sensex surged to 3-month peak at 19,701 after surging around 281 points on quick buying action in fundamentally strong scrips on anticipations of good fourth quarter results and a strong worldwide trend.
The Sensex surged 281.34 points to mark its closure at 19,701.73 on the back of continued buying in capital goods, IT and banking scrips.
Likewise, the Nifty surged 82.40 points to 5,908.45.

The major gainers were Hero Honda, Mahindra and Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, BHEL, Larsen and Toubro, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank.
