UAE to do everything for Libyan civilians

Sheikh-Abdullah-bin-Zayed-al-NahayanForeign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan told that the United Arab Emirates, a key US ally will ensure enforcing the no-fly zone over Libya as six F-16 and six Mirage fighters are already committed for the same.

He also reiterated that the country will leave no stone unturned for helping the civilians in line with the UN Resolution 1973.

The minister said, "UAE participation in the patrols will commence in the coming days. As an extension of those humanitarian operations, the UAE air force has committed six F-16 and six Mirage aircraft to participate in the patrols that will enforce the no-fly zone now established over Libya."

Earlier, former UAE air force commander Major General Khaled al-Buainnain said that UAE had some dissentions with western powers that delayed its military deployment in the country. He further told that UAE is not happy with the European and American interference in Bahrain and thinks that it is Iran that is prompting disturbance in Bahrain.

Bahraini security forces, meanwhile, acted swiftly against the demonstrators and clashed between army and protestors claimed several lives.
