Adhunik Metaliks to launch new power project
Adhunik Power and Natural Resources, a subsidiary of Adhunik Metaliks has finalized plans of doubling its generation capacity soon. This power business of Adhunik Metaliks is likely to see a fast growth in recent future.
The company plans to set up a new power plant near its current setup. Construction work next to its current facility will soon begin. Currently it is awaiting an approval from environment ministry. Completion of all processes and commencement of construction work is likely to begin after six months.
For this proposed project, the company has already completed acquisition process of more than half of the required land. Clearance from environment ministry is expected to arrive in two months from now.
For this project, Adhunik will be investing Rs. 3,000 crore initially. The company will be awarding BTG contracts, and has already started bidding for this. Bidding happens to be international. Analysts are skeptical about the company's aggressive interest towards power projects. They believe that this will divert company from its core steel business.
Currently, another power project of company is under construction. It's a 270X4 mega watt power project situated in state of Jharkhand. First two units with capacity of 540 mega watts will be in operation a year later, that is, by March, 2012.
