Month-Long Heart Care Camp Kicked Off At Father Muller
For the benefit of the people in and around the Mangalore city, the Departments of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of Father Muller Medical College Hospital in association with the Rotary Club of Mangalore North have conducted a one-month Heart Care Camp from April 2 at the college premises.
The camp will offer up services at subsidized rates.
The Hon. Mayor of Mangalore, Shri Ganesh Hosabettu inaugurated the camp with the formal lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Shri Sateesh Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, DK District of Mangalore.
Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director of FMCI presided over the inaugural ceremony, whereas Dr. Jayakrishna, Head of the Cardiac Surgery Department welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Prabhakar H., Head, Department of Cardiology gave a lecture on the benefits of Camp, and how people will take advantage of this. He emphasized on the rising numbers of heart disease and the excessive modes of detecting cardiovascular problems, and also said that the camp has been launched for the well-being of the common man.
In his lecture, Shri Ganesh Hosabettu, Hon. Mayor of Mangalore felicitated and appreciated all healthcare experts of Father Muller Hospital for providing their precious services and mainly for organizing such a camp at subsidized rates for the improvement of society.
Shri Sateesh Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, DK District of Mangalore also valued Father Muller Charitable Institutions for organising the Camp.
A short memento distribution ceremony also took place on the very first day to honor the Chief Guests of the function by Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions to admire their maiden and esteemed presence at the inaugural ceremony.
President of the Rotary Club of Mangalore (North), Mr. Lohidas conferred the vote of thanks.
Dr. B. Sanjeev Rai, Dean, Father Muller Medical College, Rev. Fr. Denis, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College and Hospital, and Mr. Preetham Rai, Secretary, Rotary Club of Mangalore (North) also attended the inaugural ceremony.
Today, heart disease has affected all strata of society, and there is need to have regular check ups for the benefit of maintaining quality health at the community level.
This camp is intended to provide facilities like ECG, ECHO, TMT, Coronary Angiogram and Angioplasty at highly subsidized rates for the benefit of the general public, especially the poor.
