Sensex Declines 47.96 Pts In Morning Trade

GM Kicks Off LNG Facility At Halol PlantThe 30-share index Sensex today was trading 47 points down as against its earlier closure at 19,941.72.

After belling the day at 19,944.3, the 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) slipped 47.96 points (0.24%) at 19,893.76.

On the other hand, the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty declined 0.39% at 5,967.75.

The BSE midcap index surged 0.11% and the BSE smallcap index was up by 0.2%.

On Wednesday, the Sensex closed the day after shedding 59.83 points at 19,941.72 on account of profit booking witnessed at upper levels by local operators together with mixed Asian signals.

The Nifty ended the day at 5991 after declining 18.05 points.

The 30-share index had hit the 20K mark on Tuesday, whereas Nifty crossed the 6k mark.

Real estate, capital goods, telecommunication, oil and gas, private power and select technology firms' scrips dragged the stock index lower.
