Hammary Furniture chests and tables recalled due to high levels of lead paintAccording to the reports, the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Hammary Furniture chests and tables due to high levels of lead paint.

It was further reported that about 7,000 decorative tables and chests were imported from China, the Philippines and Vietnam by Hammary Furniture Co. of Lenoir, N. C. and sold nationwide from November 2001 through November
2009 for between $200 and $900 each.

19 styles of furniture, including the World Map Drum Table, the Bachelors Chest and Nest of Tables are involved in the recall.

The furniture can be identified by a label with the name "Hammary Furniture" on the unfinished back or underside.

It was advised to the consumers to stop using the recalled furniture and contact Hammary for a free replacement. (With Inputs from Agencies)
