Bangladeshi couple arrested in India for giving birth to child
Bangladeshi couple who enters Indian Territory illegally faces arrest. Woman gave birth to a boy in West Bengal when she complained severe labour pains on Monday. She was admitted to the nearest hospital in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district.
His husband Shajahan claims that leaders of the India-Bangladesh Enclave Exchange Coordination Committee contacted security personnel for the border crossing.
Hospital authorities knew that women belongs to Bangladesh but they still admitted her on humanitarian grounds. She was in brutal pains and soon she gave birth to a child.
On this episode, Indian authorities are considering to arrest this Bangladeshi couple for seeking Indian medical facilities without suitable papers and permission.
On the contrary people residing at border areas hold an opinion that instead of arresting the couple, Indian authorities should issue a birth certificate to the parents of the child.
