Stop & Shop deal with Labor Unions

The supermarket chain, Stop & Shop has reached to a final consensus of the agreement between the labor unions in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

After reaching to the final stage of decision the union has agreed upon not conducting strike, until workers are also parallel with the agreement. For voting in the panel by the union members, a meeting has been scheduled.

The company has been working on the negotiations of the agreement between the unions, since January. After the agreement, the company is overwhelmed on the goal finalized of the tentative agreements which has offered the workers a somehow better package and retirement plans along with medical plans.

However the agreement is yet to get the nod from the union members, according to the Providence, R.I., union spokesman Jim Riley.

Stop & Shop is a supermarket chain, with its operations and presence in more than 350 supermarkets namely, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire and New Jersey. The company is based in Quincy.
