K Radhakrishnan Becomes New ISRO Chief
K Radhakrishnan, a renowned avionics expert, has assumed the charge as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization from the outgoing Chairman Mr. G Madhvan Nire. He was working as the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) before his elevation in ISRO.
60-year-old Radhakrishnan, a space scientist of international repute, has a vast experience of 35 years in ISRO. He played a key role in developing many projects by the Indian space agency including Chandrayaan-I which gave credible clues of water over the lunar surface.
After assuming his charge, Radhakrishnan, said, "It is with high hopes and great expectations that I am taking over this responsibility. It is a huge task that has been entrusted on me. I am confident that we will be able to achieve our goals with the dedicated work and support of the entire team of ISRO."
Before his elevation as ISRO Chief, Dr. Radhakrishnan, was the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). He did his graduation in Electronic Engineering and then pursued MBA and doctorate from prestigious IIM Bangalore and IIT, Kharagpur respectively.
