Idea Cellular books 53% jump in quarterly net profit
Idea Cellular, leading telecom subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group, has registered a decent growth of 53% in the quarterly net profit. India’s fifth-major telecom company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 220 crore in the September three month period, compared to Rs 144 crore in a year-ago period.
Further, company’s revenue, during the said period, surged 29% to Rs 2,974 crore.
Idea runs in 18 of country’s 22 telecom zones as well as is having 40% countryside subscribers.
In the September quarter, the company has clocked 1.7% sequential fall in EBITDA to Rs 810 crore.
Recently, the conglomerate has revealed price cut for its pre-paid customers in the Mumbai circle.
