Theo Walcott says he’s itching to help Arsenal overcome trophy drought
London, Oct. 6 : Twenty-one-year-old England football star Theo Walcott is itching to help Arsenal end their five-year trophy drought after being a frustrated spectator since pre-season following a back injury in a friendly against Valencia.
The Sun quoted him as saying: "It''s not nice being injured because you want to be on the pitch playing with your mates and into the rhythm of things. It''s good to come off the bench and be involved in a brilliant team. It''s always great to get on the score sheet but this is a fantastic team to be involved in.”
"It makes your job easier if you are going back into a flying Arsenal team, like we are," he added.
Arsenal have smashed 24 goals already this season and Walcott insists they are a match for anyone with the likes of Cesc Fabregas in the team.
Skipper Cesc Fabregas played a blinder against Blackburn and also set-up Walcott''s goal.
Walcott added: "He is fantastic, he''ll spot anything - I didn''t have to break my stride. He is still only 22 but he is a fantastic person to learn from.
"If he plays like he did against Blackburn, nobody will be able to stop him this season," Walcott said (ANI)
