The largest manufacturers of cars in India – Maruti Suzuki today announced the launch of CNG kit for its hot selling small car Alto in the national capital region. The CNG kit for Alto is priced at Rs 43,545.

In a statement, Maruti Suzuki said, "The Maruti-authorised CNG kits will be available across variants of brand new Maruti Suzuki Alto at dealerships in only Delhi and NCR from June 17 onwards.”

According to Maruti Suzuki, the retrofitted CNG Altos will come with a 12-kg tank, which will accommodate 7-7.5 kg of Compressed Natural Gas.

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki declared that it has halted its work on LPG models, as the company is gearing up to release CNG variants of the entire range of its cars from early 2010.
