BHEL bags Rs 1,475 cr order from Korba West Power
State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has made an announcement that it has received an order worth Rs 1,475 crore for supplying boiler, turbine for upcoming 600 MW Avantha Bhandar Thermal Power Project in Chhattisgarh.
The sources said that the order has been awarded by Korba West Power Company (KWPCL).
Under the contract, BHEL's scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbine, generator, boiler, along with associated auxiliaries.
According to sources, BHEL presently manufactures equipment to support power generation to the tune of 10,000 MW and intends to increase its capacity to support 15,000 MW electricity generation by the end of the current financial year.
Scrip of Bharat Heavy Electricals ended the day on red at Rs 1,658, down 1.58% on National Stock Exchange (NSE). The total volume of shares traded on NSE was 1,023,053.
