Samajwadi Party not to contest elections from Ghaziabad, MathuraNew Delhi, Mar 24 : Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Tuesday announced that his party would not field any candidate against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh.

"We will not field any candidate against the BJP president Rajnath Singh in Ghaziabad," Amar Singh told reporters here.

Singh, however, said that his party would help the secular candidate from the constituency to defeat the BJP president.

The SP leader informed that the SP would also not field any candidate in Mathura against Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh's son Jayant Chaudhry.

After leaving Rae Bareli and Amethi, the SP has now left these two constituencies for the Congress.

Amar Singh said that his party has left these seats as per their seat-arrangement deal with the Congress. (ANI)
