London - US popstar Michel Jackson Thursday announced that he would give a "final show of performances" at a series of concerts in London in July.

The former "King of Pop," appearing frail and unsteady, told some 2,000 fans the O2 concert venue in London: "This is it. This is the final curtain call. See you in July."

The announcement, billed as a news conference, had been described as the singer's comeback after his last tour 12 years ago.

A press release said the singer would perform 10 shows in London in July at the O2, the former Millennium Dome.

Media reports had earlier spoken of "up to 50" gigs that would earn the indebted superstar 100 million pounds (141 million dollars).

"This is it, I really mean it," Jackson told fans. (dpa)
