Toyota launches new version of Innova
In a bid to add power to its product line in India, leading automobile company, Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the refurbished version of its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), Innova, in the market. The company hopes to register growth for its fuel efficient model.
Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "The new version of Innova has the best fuel mileage in the segment with 13.7 km a litre (under test conditions)."
Mr. Nakagawa hoped that diesel engine segment would help to increase its revenue as people prefer diesel models on economic grounds.
The company, well known for its Land Cruiser model, is also all set to launch the CNG version of Innova and a compact car project by the end of financial year, 2010.
Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), said, "Currently trial runs are on. It will be sold in select cities in the North and the West where CNG is available. It will cost Rs 90,000 more than the regular version."
The new version of Innova, available in four variants, is priced between Rs 7.66 lakh and Rs 11.06 lakh.
