South Korean FA selects Cho as new chairman
Seoul - The Korea Football Association (KFA) on Thursday voted Cho Chung Yun as its new chairman, replacing long-time incumbent Chung Mong Joon.
The 63-year-old Cho will hold the post for a period of four years. Industrialist Chung, who is also a Korean member of parliament and a FIFA vice-president, announced earlier this week that he would not be seeking re-election after 16 years in the job.
Chung played a large part in ensuring South Korea co-hosted the 2002 World Cup with Japan and was named an honorary chairman by the KFA. (dpa)
