Seoul - Shares fell 2.1 per cent Tuesday on the Seoul stock exchange on worries over corporate earnings and the slowing economy. South Korea's dropped against the dollar.

The benchmark Kospi index plunged 23.84 points to close at 1,126.81.

Declining issues outnumbered advancers 608 to 214.

The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market was down 4.94 points at 358.19.

On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,374.50 Korean won, after 1,362.50 Monday. (dpa)
