‘Parque Via’ Wins Best Film Award At IFFK
Parque Via (Spanish), directed by Mexican film-maker Enrique Rivero, has won the Golden Crow Pheasant Award for the best feature film at the 13th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which concluded on 19 December.
The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best director goes to Mariana Rondon, who directed ‘Postcards from Leningrad.’ The movie (Postcards from Leningrad) also won the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Award.
The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best debutant director went to Huseyin Karabey for his Turkish movie ‘My Marlon and Brando.’
The film also swept away the Network for the Promotion of Asian Film Centre (NETPAC) Award for the best Asian film.
Nandita Das for her film ‘Firaaq,’ and Amor Hakkar’s ‘The Yellow House’ took away the special jury award for the best film, while the audience award goes to Sri Lankan film 'Machan' by Uberto Pasolini.
Algerian film producer Amor Hakker took away the special jury award for ‘The Yellow House’.
Moreover, the FIPRESCI Award for the best Malayalam film went to Anjali Menon’s Manjadi Kuru.
Anjali also pocketed the ‘Hassankutty’ award, which was introduced this year, for the best debutant Indian director.
MG Sasi’s Adayalangal bagged the NETPAC Award for the best Malayalam film.
The Golden Crow Pheasant Award for the best feature film carries a purse of Rs 10 lakh and a statuette. The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best director comprises a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh.
The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best debut director has a cash component of Rs 2 lakh, whereas Audience Prize consists of a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and the Hassankutty Award Rs 50,000.
