Moscow - Nine persons were killed in a helicopter crash in Siberia on Wednesday, officials said in Moscow.

The Civil Defence Ministry said the MI-8 chopper crashed while trying to land at the oil industry city of Nishnevartovsk, some 2,500 kilometres east of Moscow. There were an undisclosed number of survivors. (dpa)
