Nikon unveils D3300 camera alongside new lenses

Nikon unveils D3300 camera alongside new lenses Nikon on Monday introduced the world to the D3300, the company's newest entry-level DSLR camera that promises sharper photos.

The Nikon D3300 features the same 24.2-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor as its predecessor, but the company has also equipped it with its new Expeed IIII image processor.

On the outside, the D3300 is quite similar to its predecessor, the D3200; but its boasts a monocoque construction like that of the Nikon D5300.  The removal of the optical low pass filter is also a notable change in its shape.

Along with unveiling the D3300 at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas, the company also announced two new lenses.  The 35mm f/1.8 G full-frame lens offers a 63 degree angle of view.  It contains one aspheric and one ED lens element to deal with chromatic aberration.  It will be available from 20th of February with a price tag of $600.

The company's brand new 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, the second version of the lens, is significantly smaller than the first-generation version.  It will cost $250 and be available from early February.

The Nikon D3300 will also become available sometime in early February.  The new camera will be available in black, grey and red; and cost $650.
