NIIT Technologies net profit slips 11% in Q4; proposes dividend of 65%

NIIT Technologies net profit slips 11% in Q4
Information Technology major NIIT Technologies has registered a net profit of Rs 31 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 11% lower compared to Rs 45.9 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Consolidated revenue in the period till March 31 rose 6% to Rs 248.5 crore from Rs 243.5 crore in the same quarter in 2006-07.

NIIT Technologies Limited, together with its subsidiaries, provides information technology solutions in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The company also provides business process outsourcing services for back office and contact centre operations, as well as geographic information system solutions.

For the year, the consolidated net profit surged 5% to Rs 135.3 crore as against Rs 129.24 crore, for the year ended March 2007.

Consolidated revenue for 2007-08 has increased 6% to Rs 941.5 crore, compared with Rs 885.9 crore for the same period, last fiscal.

The board of directors of the company has recommended 65% dividend at Rs 1.30 for equity shares of face value Rs 2 each for the financial year 2007-2008.
