New Zealand to negotiate working holidays with Poland and Latvia

Wellington - Prime Minister Helen ClarkNew Zealand will negotiate reciprocal agreements for one-year working holidays by young people with Poland and Latvia, Prime Minister Helen Clark announced on Monday.

The pacts will give up to 100 citizens a year of partner countries aged 18-30 special visas allowing them to spend 12 months in New Zealand on working vacations.

New Zealanders will have reciprocal rights to travel and work in the European states.

New Zealand already has similar agreements with a number of countries, including Britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, the Czech Republic, Malta and Estonia. (dpa)
