New Indian envoy reaches Nepal
Kathmandu, Apr 24 : New Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood reached Kathmandu on Thursday to assume his duty.
Sood, a career diplomat, was India's ambassador to Afghanistan before his posting in Nepal.
As a disarmament expert, he was previously India's Permanent Representative to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. He had also worked as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington.
Sood replaces ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee who had left Nepal on Wednesday after completing his three-year tenure.
Mukherjee has been appointed as new Indian ambassador to London. (ANI)
