According to reports, a new image captured by NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity has led to a lot of excitement regarding possible alien life on Mars in ancient times. It is believed that the image is showing Mars Cave Crab that according to many shows the life structures on Mars in the past.

It is a high-resolution image that was captured by the Curiosity on July 29, 2014, and many call the image the crab monster and a small artillery cannon.

According to senior astronomers and experts in the field, it is doubtful that the image is a proof of alien life on the red planet. According to them, it is only pareidolia, which is a phenomenon in which the mind assumes shapes of objects to look like specific things.

The image has led to a lot of discussion on the social media and several people are posting the image with amazement and assumption. According to some, it appears that the object resembles a crab-like monster- something from science fiction. However, it is also considered by some as just a stone formation.

When it comes to life on the planet, there is a lot of excitement regarding it and a number of spacecrafts have been sent to explore the planet closely. The Mars Express from the European Space Agency was joined by NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) as well as India’s Mars Orbiter Mission and two from NASA: the 2001 Mars Odyssey and the 2006 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO).
