Girija Prasad Koirala & PrachandaKathmandu, May 10 : Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Saturday said that the new constitution to be drafted should honour the martyrs’ sacrifices.

“I request you all to draft a new constitution without indulging in any disputes and honouring the martyr’s sacrifices,” Koirala said.

Speaking at a tea party organised at his Baluwatar residence in Kathmandu in felicitation of the parties which were elected in the Constituent Assembly (CA), PM Koirala stressed on the need to include the views of all sides while drafting a new constitution.

He also requested the parties to determine their future course of action by taking the new parties elected in the CA through the people’s mandate into confidence.

Communist Party of Nepal-Marxist (CPN-M) Chairman Prachanda cleared out that the new government, to be formed by co-ordination among the parties, will not include parallel power centers. He also informed that the next government will be formed by the first meeting of the CA.

“The credibility of the interim government has been changed to that of a caretaker government after the CA polls results. The first meting of the CA will take place with the caretaker government but the meeting will form a new government and declare the country a republic,” said Prachanda.
