Under a whole new package announced by the Government, troops who have injured themselves have been promised the very best of treatment, for as long as they require it. The "lifetime care" guarantee will be covering all veterans who have suffered physical or mental trauma.

Although the Ministers had declared back in July of 2008, that all those hurt while "serving their country" would be eligible to receive  preferential care within the NHS, it seemed that very few GPs and hospitals were aware of this, and their duty to provide priority treatment.

"Today, the Government is making a lifelong guarantee to the brave men and women who have served their country. My part of that promise is to ensure that those members of the armed forces who have suffered serious injury will have an individually-tailored health care plan before they leave the service", said Veterans' Minister Kevan Jones.

The scheme, which will cost an estimated 280,000 Pounds, will be administered by Combat Stress, which is currently taking care of 4,000 serving and retired military troops.
