Bees and honey are considered as good money-making business, but this business has suffered a bit of downfall. Bees have been threatened by several outside factors, therefore, and in order to protect the bee colonies a man has recently developed a new type of artificial beehive.

There are approximately 20, 000 bee species that are known in the world, and these species have been roaming around since about the early cretaceous period. According to experts, bees lived unrestrained lives until humans started to interfere and threaten their existence.

They stated that climate change from CO2 emissions, several developments on the established bee habitats, and harmful pesticide are among the few, majorly known threat to the population of bees across the world.

The Modern Top Beehive Bar of beekeeper Roland Reed is simple in terms of design, but could be said ingenious in practice. The principle used in it is quite simple, said Reed.

It has a box with sticks across the top, to which bees attach their comb. He said usually many hives have low, central side entrances, sloping sides and a pair of follower boards to enclose the colony.

But he said there are several variations in his theme. The creation of this new beehive bar design allows an unparalleled level of ease for beekeepers, and a new design to change the way bees make honey in hives.

It is said that humans have been involved in collecting honey from bees for the past 15,000 years. In United States alone there are around 100,000 beekeepers. But due to declining numbers of bee population interest of beekeeping has also went down.

But this new invention might prove helpful in resurgence of bees, despite all the outside factors that threaten modern bee population of the world.
