Neil deGrasse Tyson to host ‘StarTalk’

American astrophysicist and famous cosmologist Neil deGrasse Tyson is perhaps the best known expert of astrophysics and space exploration in the United States. Tyson has been director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History since 1996, but he is known as the charismatic star and host of the American science documentary television series 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey'.

Tyson is popular among social media enthusiasts. He has more than three million followers on online social networking service Twitter. The science communicator is going to host a new talk show in April. According to reports, the talk show is named 'StarTalk' and it will be aired on the National Geographic Channel. This is not the first time when Tyson will talk about science. He has been seen revealing secrets of science and space in many television series. Next month, he will be awarded the 2015 Public Welfare Medal by the National Academy of Sciences for his role in taking science to public.

During his shows about science and space, Tyson uses colorful language to reveal obscure scientific topics. According to Tyson, he loves science. That is why his office is covered with big posters of planets and moons. He also conducts researchers to know about birth, deaths of stars and their life.

Although Tyson has several fans, there are some people who do not agree with Tyson's explanations about science. He usually received hate mail over his support of reclassifying Pluto as a dwarf planet. According to him, teachers and children protest that they can no longer use an old mnemonic device for remembering Mercury, Venus, Earth and the other planets. While talking about received letter, Tyson said, "I receive letter asking: What will my very educated mother serve us now? Nine what?" He had said that our educated mother just served nine pizzas.
