NDTV Group Receives Top Honors At Television Awards
NDTV 24X7 reaffirmed its position as the most popular English news channel award whereas the top honor for best popular Hindi news channel has gone to ‘Aaj Tak’ at the annual News Television awards Awards held in Delhi on Saturday evening.
NDTV Profit’s Shivnath Thukral was announced as the best business news anchor and ‘Business on Course’ was adjudged the best lifestyle and fashion news show at the awards cereony.
TV Today Group editor-in-chief and chairman Aroon Purie was honored with the News Television Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to the TV news industry.
CNN-IBN was announced as the Numero Uno English News Channel of the year whilst Times Now was awarded the Best News Channel Critics – (English) award.
The Numero Uno Hindi News Channel of the year award went to NDTV India, whereas CNBC TV18 received the best Business News Channel (critic) award.
The Numero Uno Business Channel of the year awards were shared by CNBC TV18, NDTV Profit and CNBC Awaaz.
NDTV 24X7’s prime-time show 'India 60 Minutes' was declared as the best daily newscast. 'The Car and Bike Show' was voted the best auto show.
The NDTV group received a total of 25 awards in total. IBNLive won the best news website award and CNN-IBN's Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai won the best news anchor award.
NDTV 24x7's Poonam Aggarwal won the best TV news reporter award of the year (English).
Face the Nation, the show that debates the day’s most important, won the Best Presented Popular News show, whereas Devil’s Advocate, the Sunday interview show hosted by Karan Thapar, bagged the award for Best News/Current Affairs Show.
Zindagi Live, the talk show on CNN-IBN’s sister channel IBN7, won the Best Talk Show in Hindi Award.
Among others who attended the function were BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, former test cricketer Madan Lal and fashion designer Ritu Kumar.
