Musharraf declares he is ready to work with any party in power
Rawalpindi, Mar 4: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s key aides got together to deny the speculations making rounds that he had been asked to quit and that he might put in his papers in a day or two. On the sidelines, Musharraf declared that he was ready to work any party that formed the next government in the country.
According to the Daily Times, the official spokesman of the Pakistan Army, the President's House and other close aides of Musharraf refuted the reports last night.
The report was aired by a private news agency after the meeting of Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani with Musharraf.
Meanwhile, according to another report, during his meting with Kayani, Musharraf reportedly said that he respected the people's verdict and would work with any party that formed the government.
In the meeting, held at the Presidential Camp Office, the President and the Army Chief discussed domestic and international politics, security and the ongoing operation against terrorists, said sources.
"Musharraf repeated his earlier assurance that he would form a working relationship with the future head of the government," the report quoted a source as saying. (ANI)
