Multi-starrer ''Yugapurushan'' film on Narayana Guru being produced

Narayana GuruOttappalam (Kerala), Jan. 22 : At a time when people yearn for peace and communal harmony all around, a special film based on the principles of Saint and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru of Kerala is being made here.

Yugapurushan's first shooting has started in Kerala's Palakkad district.

Director R. Sukumaran''s multi-starrer ''Yugapurushan'', a film based on the life and times of Guru (1856-1928), a prophet, saint, sage and social reformer of Kerala, will be shot at various places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Srilanka.

"The unified movement, a culture which involved the Ahimsa (non-violence) of Buddha, the brotherhood of prophet Mohammad, the wisdom of Aadi Shankara and spirituality of various gurus. This was the message given by Shri Narayana Guruji, which he wanted to see, the Yugapurushan of the century," said Thalaivasal Vijay, one of the actors in the fillm.

The film highlights the Gurus' teachings promoting one caste, one religion and one god for the mankind.

The 500 million rupees film will be completed in three schedules.

Superstars from Kerala and Tamil Nadu would be seen in lead roles with actor Thalaivasal Vijay in the title character.

In the fillm, Kerala's superstar Mammootty plays the role of a revolutionary and follower, who lived and supported the guru''s principles and teachings.

Besides, superstar Mohanlal will act as Swami Vivekananda in the film.

Navya Nair is casting a Brahmin lady named Savithri Antharjanam, who loves and marries a ''pulayan'' named Koran.

Apart from Guru''s life the film also presents many national and historically important personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Chattambi Swamikal, poet Kumaranasan, T. K. Madhavan, Ayyankaali and Mannathu Padmanabhan. (ANI)
