Reportedly, Israel was closely watching the protests in Egypt and teams gathered at the Kirya military headquarters and Southern Command headquarters in Beersheba and Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv to debate the likely consequences and developments. Several issues concerning, especially the Muslim Brotherhood’s potential to assume power in Egypt and its plan to foil the peace treaty and the long-term strategic effect Mubarak’s downfall.
