Mother Dairy raises milk price by Rs 2 a litreThe largest supplier of milk in the Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy has increased the price of milk by up to Rs 2 a litre from today for the customers in the national capital region.

The company sells more than 3 million litres per day in the region. It sells milk in packed packs as well as loose. The full cream milk will now cost Rs 2 per litre more to the customers while other varieties will become more expensive by Rs 1 a litre.

One litre of full cream milk in poly pack will now cost Rs 39 while toned milk n poly pack will cost Rs 30. The token milk in loose will now cost milk Rs 28, double toned Rs 26 and skimmed milk Rs 22 fromt eh company's booths in the NCR.

Mother Dairy Managing Director S Nagarajan said, "We have raised milk prices by 4 per cent. For the last one year, we have been holding prices. But now we are forced to increase it because procurement prices have gone up and also the cost of other inputs such as power, diesel and packaging material has increased."

The company pointed out in the statement that it has passed on three fourth of the consumer price to rural farmers.
