Mobile services startup ItsOn raises $15.5 in Series P funding round
The extremely stealthy mobile services startup, ItsOn recently revealed in an announcement that it has raised $15.5 million in its Series B funding round; which was led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and included the participation of Jim Davidson-led investment firm SV Angel.
Having closed the most recent round of financing, the 2008-founded ItsOn startup, which has its headquarters in Redwood City, California, has raised a total of $24.4 million thus far.
The latest ItsOn funding round was first reported by All Things Digital, which said that though the startup apparently visualizes a mobile service that will allow the customers choose to pay for access to Facebook or video for a specific time period.
With ItsOn plans evidently underscoring a unique stance on data usage, by enabling customers to select the amount and purpose of their data usage, the company's founder and CEO Greg Raleigh said in a statement that ItsOn will chiefly focus on giving the mobile customers the ability to select the services they need and pay only for them.
Revealing that ItsOn will allow consumers to "select, monitor, control, and share all of their mobile services as they wish, instantly from their phone, tablet or PC," Raleigh said: "Mobile service consumers are finally empowered to choose exactly which mobile services they need and how much they want to spend -- eliminating over-charging and bill shock."
