Microsoft Office online for free
Microsoft has rolled out its Office 2010 productivity suite.
According to Microsoft the Office Web Apps, offers curtailed versions of Word, Excel, OneNote and Powerpoint for use online, reports The Financial Times.
This move is supposedly to capture a respectable market share in cloud-based productivity suites currently held by Google Docs, Adobe Buzzword, Zoho Office and others.
This service will permit users to view, share and edit documents online and shall lack things such as the ability to edit video on PowerPoint.
Rather, the Web Apps will concentrate on more web-friendly features such as the ability to embed tags into documents and post them on blogs.
The office web apps is currently available with United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada, via company's Windows Live SkyDrive portal.
