Metso Minerals, a Helsinki, Finland-based mining equipment manufacturer, has secured Rs 112 crore order from Global Supplies, for supply of an iron ore induration machine. Global Supplies is an Essar Group company.

Under the contract, the machine will be delivered to Essar Steel Holdings Ltd. for its Paradeep Pellet Plant located in Orissa. The contract is scheduled to be completed during the second quarter of 2010.

Metso is a global engineering and technology corporation with 2007 net sales of over EURO 6 billion. The company has over 27,000 employees and has presence is approximately 50 countries. The company serves customers in the pulp and paper industry, rock and minerals processing, the energy industry and selected other industries

Last year, Metso Minerals had announced the expansion of its office premises and manufacturing and foundry capacities in India with a combined investment of EUR 12.5 million.

Metso Minerals' wholly-owned subsidiary Metso Mineral India has its headquarters in Gurgaon. It has a manufacturing unit at Bawal in Haryana, a foundry at Ahmedabad and a bulk material handling unit at Thane in Maharashtra.

The company is also investing approximately EUR 30 million in India to set up "Metso Park", a multi-functional industrial facility in Alwar, Rajasthan.
