Mckinsey Granted e-Health Record ProjectThe Federal Executive Government of Australia has allowed the Mckinsey Group to proceed with the $467 million e-health record project.

Health Minister Nicola Roxon stated that the government will be spending around $29.9m to assist Mckinsey to carry forward the work. The group will be offering support to the management regarding the medical professionals and will look after the 12 sites.

Ms. Roxon stated that the adoption partner will assist the employees who will be working on the system by providing them with education and training regarding the requirements of the project.

“The consortium was charged with planning, designing and developing training, guidance and tools in collaboration with clinicians and software providers to support the PCEHR rollout”, she said.

The individuals will be offered the information about their health through this project as the natives will be offered personal e-health record. The physicians, nurses and other health professionals will be assisted by the health system which will help in enhancing the safety of the patient’s information. Also, proficient clinical assessment and effective treatment will be promoted, she stated.

McKinsey will be leading a few followers like PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ocean Informatics, Workstar, Event Planet, Alfred Health, the Australian General Practice Network, Salmat and public relations agency Hill & Knowlton.
