Seeing the growing popularity of CNG usage in personal cars, Maruti Suzuki has decided to roll out a Maruti authorized CNG kit for its best-selling hatchback Maruti Alto. Maruti Suzuki has declared that the authorized CNG kit for Maruti Alto will be for purchase in the Delhi-NCR region.

Maruti Suzuki is offering the CNG kit for any of its vehicles for personal transportation, for the first time. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki released bi-fuel versions of its Wagon R Duo and 800 Duo, both featuring LPG kits.

With CNG kits, Maruti Alto is expected to see boost in sales. The CNG version of Maruti Alto will offer a rather cheap cost per kilometer.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the authorized CNG kit for Maruti Alto includes a 12kg CNG tank, capable of holding up to 7.5 kg of CNG. The CNG kit comes with a Lamda distributor and Advancer which help in ameliorating gas flow and improving pick up of vehicle. The CNG kits will be installed on brand new Maruti Alto cars, before delivery to the customer. The CNG kit for Maruti Alto, priced at around Rs. 43,545, comes with the warranty of 2 years/40,000kms.
