Maruti’s aiming to produce 850 cars per day in Manesar
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is planning to start producing as many as 850 cars per day at its plant in Manesar in Hariyana during eth first half of September.
The plant in Manesar, where it recently resumed production following a violent riot, is operational and will start producing cars to start filling the gap in supply and help the company improve delivery to the customers.
The company believes that the plant will churn out 850 vehicles per day during the first half of September and the plant is likely to take more time to return to the pre-riot production level of about 1,700 vehicles a day, according to company Chairman Osamu Suzuki.
Chairman Suzuki sad, "We want to produce about 800 to 850 vehicles in the first half of this month. As of September 4, we have reached 670 vehicles, so this is likely. I think we will see some delay in the timing of the factory going back to full operation."
Maruti Suzuki and resumed work at the factory in August following the devastating riots in July. A riot by workers that left Awanish Kumar Dev, General Manager HR dead in a fire accident and resulted in 90 employees being jailed, is likely to affect the company's operations and disrupt supplies of models.
