Marlon Brando was refused TV presenter’s job shortly before his death
Washington Dec 23 : Hollywood legend Marlon Brando had made a failed attempt to get a job as a TV presenter shortly before his death, in a bid to boost his bank balance.
In her new book, the Godfather star's former assistant Alice Marchak has revealed he was so broke that he contemplated selling goods on U. S. home shopping channel QVC.
He had only 9,000 dollars to his name at the time.
Brando was so desperate to work for QVC that he held discussions with a network executive just a year before his death, says the book.
"Marlon was serious about QVC. He had a meeting with a woman from the channel," Contactmusic quoted Marchak as writing.
Brando died of respiratory failure in 2004 at the age of 80. (ANI)
