Mahindra plans a price cut for to attract customers

Mahindra-MahindraAfter Renault exited from the JV that it had with M&M for the Logan, the UV maker Mahindra & Mahindra has recently announced that the company will be cutting the price of the sedan by 24,000 to 80,000 rupees to provide better value for its customers.

Notably, Mahindra will be carrying the sedan version of the Logan and the brand till the end of the current calendar year after which the company will be launching a new version of the product under the Mahindra badge and with a renamed product. In fact, the no-frills sedan from the door of Renault hasn't been able to make any impact on the Indian consumer.

Experts believe that one of the major reasons for the failure of the product has been the length which takes it to the A3 segment and hence no excise breaks are provided which takes the price a little too costly for the price sensitive Indian consumer.

The JV has been in news for a long time after the product wasn't able to generate the desired numbers.

Renault's partner Nissan is working in alliance with companies like Bajaj Auto and Ashok Leyland to attain its ambitious goals of growth from the Indian market.
