Mahindra & Mahindra launches new e2o in Delhi
India’s automotive giant, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the launch of its new electric four seater passenger car called, e2o in the national capital, Delhi today.
The Mahindra e2o (energy to oxygen) model is developed by Reva Electric Car Company, which has been renamed Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles. The Reva Electric Car Company had developed the model as NXR for the Indian market. The Mahindra e2o will replace REVAi and will become the most cost effective car to own in the country.
This will be the first model from Reva Electric, since it was taken-over by Mahindra & Mahindra in 2010. The car will use generation lithium ion batteries and the company is claiming that it will run about 100 kms per charge. The car can be charged at home or at the workplace with the help of any 15 amp plug point. It will normally take 6-8 hours for a full charge which will consume 10 units of electricity.
The Mahindra e2o will also use the ecosystem of ‘Sun2Car’ to gather solar energy to charge the vehicle. India’s only- all-electric car will be priced at Rs 5.96 lakh including state government subsidy.
