Madhya Pradesh surpasses Bihar to report highest growth: ReportMadhya Pradesh (MP) surpassed Bihar in terms of highest growth of gross state domestic product in the current fiscal, according to a figures published by a daily.

In the current fiscal, MP added more than Rs 20,000 crore to its economy, enjoying an expansion in its gross domestic product from Rs 2,01,290 crore in fiscal year of 2011-12 to Rs 2,21,463 crore in the current fiscal.

Bihar added Rs 13,679 crore to its gross domestic product, enjoying an in its economy from Rs 144,278 crore in fiscal year of 2011-12 to Rs 157,957 crore in the fiscal year of 2012-13.

Bihar reported single digit growth of 9.48 per cent, while MP registered a growth of 10 per cent this fiscal year.

The provisional stats released by the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) for 2012-13 revealed that Bihar's economy has suffered deceleration over the past years. In the previous fiscal year, Bihar had registered a growth rate of 13.26 per cent.

Bihar's per capita income jumps from Rs 13,178 last year to Rs 14,268 in the current year.

In comparison, MP and Jharkhand saw their per capita incomes rise by more than Rs 2,000 year-on-year, while Odisha added Rs 1,450 in its per capita income in the past one year.
